New Format for CariCRIS’ Rating Reports

Caribbean Information & Credit Rating Services Limited (CariCRIS), the region’s leading credit rating agency, wishes to inform the public that as of April 1, 2022, our Rating Reports will be presented in a new and improved format.

In keeping with our mission to contribute to regional capital market development by making available more independent analysis and credit information, and our commitment to continuous improvement, we have sought to make our reports more concise, precise and risk-factor oriented. As such, in addition to the overall rating assigned to an entity, we will also include in the report the parameter and sub-parameter ratings that contribute to the overall rating. This increased granularity in reporting will allow for a greater level of understanding and appreciation by the reader of the underlying strengths/risks of the rated entity and changes to these strengths/risks over the review period, as applicable. We expect that this should lead to more informed decision-making on the part of investors and lenders and be more beneficial to the rated entities in understanding the sub-components of the assigned ratings.
